Written in Microsoft Excel, this tool will estimate the amount of supplies required to lay a user-specified number of feet of flex track or hand laid track, and provide an estimate of list pricing for these supplies. The tool has supplies information and list pricing along with the necessary formulas to calculate the amount and estimate the price for a given number of feet. It includes tabs for Code 125 rail and Code 100 rail, and includes all known suppliers of code 125 and code 100 items. Users interested in another size rail for their track could easily develop a tab for that size. The tool will also produce an initial shopping list for the supplies. An additional feature of the tool is that the user can enter net pricing from one or more dealers, in order to comparison shop. At this time the tool does not include components to estimate roadbed, sub-roadbed, ballast, or shipping & handling charges & taxes that may be required. Also at this time the tool does not provide an estimate for turnouts. If you have updates, corrections, and/or suggestions for enhancements, please email us.
